One of the public holidays is celebrated nationwide in Thailand or Mother's Day festival or "Wan Mae Heng Chat".This day is for remembering an obligation of mother and showing faithfulness to Queen Regent Sirikit of Thailand. Becauseof,The Queen like considered as the mother of all Thai people. Thai people respect and pay attention to previous benefactor. So, on 12th August or Queen 's birthday is fixed for Mother's day celebration in Thailand. So,Mother's Day is very important because today Thai people will show that we are loyal to Queen Sirikit and we show that we love and respect our mothers.
Mother's Day is Queen Sirikitr's birthday on August 12th. In 1939 is her Majesty Queen Sirikit's birthday to Colonel Mom Chao Nakkhatra Mangkala Kitiyakorn and Mom Luang Bue Kitiyakorn. Thetitle"Mom Rajawongse" means that she is a child of Mom Chao the most junior class Thai princes and descended from royalty. On Mother's Day, everyone will be wearing blue in honor of the Queen's birthday. Every day of week in Thailand is assigned a color and the Queen was born on Friday which is signified by blue. The Queen's birthday not only represents Mother's Day in Thailand but it is also a national holiday and all banks and government offices will be closed. There will be many celebration throughout Thailand in honor of their Queen who is well loved and revered in the Muslim south of Thailand due to her work promoting tolerance and understanding of the Muslim Minorities in Thailand. The Queen Regent Sirikit is also known for her efforts in reviving Thailand's folk arts and crafts. Her Majesty is support foundation for the promotion of supplementary occupations and related techniques.
There are two symbols for Mother's Day,They are the flower and song of mother day. Everyone hold that the jasmine is the flowers of Mother's Day because the jasmine is white and fragrant compare with immaculate love of mothers. We use the jusmine for respect the mother, and furthermore is song of Mother's Day is "Kah Nam Nom". This song tells about a mothercraft, an obligation of mothers and love of mothers.Everywhere that has exhibition about mother's day will use the song of mother's day for create feeling of love our mother.
on Mother's Day, everyone will have activities with their mothers and families. This day in the morning, most of the Thai people like to make merit by presents food to a Buddhist priest and listens Buddhist sermons at a temple. Someone take mother and families go to travel in interesting place. Then, many schools in Thailand set place for Mother's Day celebration.
